80 watts for a 100 gallon tank is not enough light to keep those soft corals. you need to be somewhere around 3-5 watts per gallon for soft coral.

Holli,
did you put this in a biocube? when i had mine installed i had it so the water traveled through chamber 1 and fell into the skimmer in chamber 2. then the water went back into the tank from the pump in chamber 3.

so if you are looking at the tank directly the pump from the skimmer would be facing the chamber 3 side.

Hi. I just bought one and so far no problems. There were some bubbles in my tank but after a couple of days they cleared up. I still get a few now and then no biggy. There is one question what way is this suppose to go in? I have it where the pump is facing the 1st chamber. I did take out the 2nd crate that held the bioballs and put sponges in the return wall. so let me know if this is right. Thank you, Holli

if you only have a total of 20-30watts for a 40 gallon tank that wont be enough light. i would say you need about 100 watts of power compact, t5 or metal halide light to support those corals. 30 watts wont give them enough light to live.

you could probably get away with 80 degrees but i would not chance much higher. if you can prop the lid open or put a fan over the water that may drop the temp a couple degrees. how many hours a day are you running your lights? also what kind of lights do you have?
